This is Melese's cake- a four-tiered variation in brown. She wanted every layer to look and taste different, so we pressed coconut, sliced almonds, and crushed gingersnaps into the outside of each layer instead of traditional buttercream or fondant, and let the flourless chocolate-hazlenut cake stand on its own. Guests loved the choices and most opted to sample a bit of each.
